Laying sternal in donut. QAR. Removed bandage and cleaned using saline solution. Applied telfa and figure 8 wrap. Radiographed injured wing under 1.5% ISO via mask- NSF.

QAR, lying in donut. Not very reactive through treatment. Can see bleeding under bandage.

Bird was seen hanging by string above pond at 9am today. Two volunteers & local fire dept were involved in rescue.

Left foot, ankle, digits: tangled in string; no damage noted
Right foot, ankle, digits: tangled in string; tiny wound laterally, otherwise no damage

Bird presents QAR, lying down in box. Admin torb IM before starting exam due to known wing inj. Both feet and left wing were tangled in string - not typical fishing line but had a few small, severed metal hooks (no barbs) on it. L wing covered in blood. Detangled carefully and cleaned L wing with hydrogen peroxide and chlorhex scrub. Majority of the lateral wing is cold to the touch, dk red with bruising. Volunteers report bird was still moving around for the majority of the rescue until he lost energy, so I'm unsure how long and how severely this wing has been lacking blood flow - initial report was 9am, so up to 4-5 hours, could be less if he cinched it down with his struggling. No fractures palpated, soft tissue wounds I could locate were small.
Expecting Dr G in on Friday - opted to give this bird a chance and see if that wing recovers, vet can assess on Fri.
Dried wing and wrapped *very loosely* in padded fig 8 + body bandage. Finished tx and set up in KR2 incubator. Will receive another tx tonight.
